In 2016, The Lorenz Consultancy moved to its current home at 24 Hanover Square and refitted the space to suit our needs. Our reception area and meeting space is designed to make our Clients and guests feel welcome and comfortable, so please feel free to call in and say hello.
In 2001 Baker Lorenz concluded a sale to Hercules Plc, who subsequently re-sold the business as a public company.
This was not the end of Anthony Lorenz's association with Hanover Square, as on 8 May 2007, he opened The Lorenz Consultancy at 18 Hanover Square and two years later, in 2009, we moved to 21 Hanover Square.
Baker Lorenz continued to occupy 25 Hanover Square throughout the 1990s slowly filling the entire building as they grew to over 40 people.
In 1981, 25 Hanover Square became the home to Baker Lorenz. The premises were far too big for our needs, so we occupied three floors and sublet the remainder. Baker Lorenz soon became one of the best known niche consultancies in London.
On 8 May 1972, Anthony Lorenz and John Baker set up Baker Lorenz on the fifth floor of 9 Hanover Street. They took 638 sq ft at £3,300 per annum - £5 per sq ft was a big rent in those days!
Exactly four years later on 8 May 1976 operations moved to 13-14 Hanover Square where the annual rent was seven times that of the original premises, at £23,500 per annum.
Although the configuration of the space didn't suit the the business, it remained home for nearly a decade.
Hanover Square, in London's Mayfair, has changed almost beyond recognition since Anthony Lorenz first went to work, aged just 17.
On 8 May 1966, Anthony joined Lewis and Tucker, as an office junior on just £3 a week and was located at 16 Hanover Square.
In an almost unbroken progress, Anthony built a career that has rarely strayed far from this leafy corner of the West End.
